The Modern Generation of Fourth Generation (1975 - 1989) :-
The fourth generation period was 1971–1980. Fourth generation computers were built using very large scale integration technology. Thousands of components were packaged on a chip, the size of a fingernail. This led to the development of microprocessors. Personal operating systems computer were developed during this period.Graphic user interface (GUI) technology was exploited to provide more convenience to users. PCs became more affordable and widespread during this period.
An important development in software was the development of concurrent programming languages such as ADA. Another notable development was the introduction of interactive graphic devices and language interfaces for graphic systems.
