Computer parts:-
All types of computer generaly have three functional parts.
1. Input Unit
2. Central Processing Unit (CPU)
3. Output Unit
Input Unit:
This unit consists of devices with which we enter data into a computer. This unit forms the link between the user and the computer. Input devices translate information into a computer-understandable form.
Central processing unit (CPU):
The CPU is Called brain of a computer. The CPU performs all types of data processing operations. It stores data, intermediate results and instructions (programs). Central processing unit controls the operation of all parts of the computer.
The CPU itself has three components
ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit)
Memory Unit
Control Unit
ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit):-
The function of an arithmetic section is to perform arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and logical segments perform logic operations such as comparison, selection, matching, and merging of data.
Memory Unit:-
This part of computer can store instructions, data, and moree information results. This unit supplies information to other computer units when needed. this memory is also known as internal storage unit or main memory or primary memoyr or random access memory (RAM).
Control Unit:-
The process of input, output, processing and storage is done under the supervision of a unit called 'Control Unit'. It's indicate when Computer start receiving data, when stop receiving data, where to store data, etc. It takes care of the step-by-step processing of all computer operations.
